Excellent dental care and routine prevention are important for a healthy smile and body. Recent studies show strong links between our mouth and the rest of our body. The oral-systemic connection suggests that a healthy mouth can improve your general well-being, especially cardiovascular health. Studies have even suggested that poor oral health may be linked to an increase of cardiovascular problems including heart attack and stroke.
When you come to our office for the first time, we will be sure to obtain any necessary imaging using our modern low-dose digital x-rays. Your new patient exam will include a thorough head and neck exam and oral cancer screening. By the end of the appointment, we will also take pictures with an intra-oral camera to show what we see in the mouth. By doing so we can make discuss together treatment options with your long-term overall health in mind. We always prefer a conservative approach to dental care to preserve and save your natural dentition.
